Where are you from originally?
I was born in Victoria, British Columbia, but grew up in Northern California.
Where did you go to school?
I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating with a B.S. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. I completed optometry school at Marshall B. Ketchum University (formerly known as Southern California College of Optometry).
What other languages can you speak?
Mandarin

Coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I am a huge bookworm and can easily spend a full day curled up with hot tea and a book! I also love to travel, hang out with family and friends, and go to Disneyland whenever humanly possible.
What kind of books do you like to read?
Any kind of fiction, but I will admit to having a soft spot for sci-fi/fantasy as well as fairytale retellings.
Where is the most beautiful place you’ve been?
Bali, Indonesia
What is at the top of your bucket list?
Hang gliding, visiting Greece
What is something you’d like to learn?
Believe it or not, I don’t know how to swim – and I definitely still need to learn! I also would love to take vocal lessons and learn how to sing (well).
Why did you decide to do the work you are doing now?
Vision is truly something that impacts all parts of our lives – it lets us see our family’s faces, function optimally at work, drive safely on the roads, and so much more. I love that I get to be in a unique position to help people improve the quality of their lives in all these aspects by helping them with their vision.

What small things make you happy?
The smell of clean laundry, eating dessert, seeing people smile, a good night’s sleep, having a good workout…my list could go on forever.
